With the situation regarding when local elections will go ahead uncertain, Labour points to the example set by the Biden campaign in the United States where progressive government was re-established through a mass early voting/postal voting drive.

Locally, the political situation on the Borough Council is finely balanced. Though the Conservatives hold a plurality of seats, the council remains under No Overall Control with Labour holding several key seats and in with a shout of winning several more this year. With your help Labour can shore up its position and play an even greater role in promoting socially just, people-focused, environmentally friendly policy in the Borough of Maidstone.

Conservatives in meltdown

Labour campaigners Patrick Coates and Dan Wilkinson highlight the fact that the Conservatives are in melt down for the local elections.  They are deselecting their well known Councillors and having others stand down.

Patrick says “Labour is an island of stability when we see the Conservatives in a mess.”

Dan said that “The Conservative meltdown is an indication of a party which wants to disassociate itself from the unpopular Conservative run Kent County Council and the shambles they have made over the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit.”
